About the Free Audit
What exactly happens in the free 30-minute audit?+
We walk through your current software stack together, identify the categories where you're most likely overspending, and give you 2–3 immediate actions you can take regardless of whether you engage us further. It's a genuine audit — not a sales call dressed up as one. You'll leave with specific, actionable information about your own subscriptions.
How do I prepare for the audit call?+
As much or as little as you like. If you can pull together a rough list of the software tools your team uses day-to-day, that's a great starting point. If not, we'll build that list together on the call. There's no homework required — just show up and we'll do the rest.
What if I don't know all the tools my team uses?+
That's extremely common — and it's exactly why we exist. Most founders and finance managers we work with are surprised by how many tools their teams are running independently. We have a structured process to surface the full picture, including tools that may have been adopted by individual team members without central approval.
About the Process
How long does a full engagement take?+
A Subscription Audit is typically delivered in 5–7 business days. A full Cost Optimization Strategy takes 2–3 weeks. Vendor Consolidation projects run 4–6 weeks depending on complexity. Most clients see their first actual savings implemented within 30 days of receiving their report.
How much of our team's time is required?+
Roughly 2–3 hours total across a 4–6 week engagement. One kickoff call (30 min), some document sharing (async, no call needed), and one report walkthrough call (60 min). We do the heavy lifting — you review and approve. That's the model.
What information do you need from us to get started?+
Typically: 3 months of credit card or bank statements filtered to software vendors, plus a list of tools your team uses regularly. We don't need access to your full P&L, banking credentials, or any systems. Invoices and a tool list is enough to do a thorough audit. We're happy to guide you on exactly what to pull together after the free call.
About Pricing
How does your pricing work?+
The initial 30-minute consultation is always free, no strings attached. For full engagements (Subscription Audit, Cost Optimization Strategy, or Vendor Consolidation), we charge a performance-based fee — a percentage of verified savings delivered in year one. The exact percentage is agreed upfront before any work begins, and is clearly documented in our engagement letter.
What counts as "verified savings"?+
Savings are verified when they result in a confirmed reduction in your recurring software spend — either through cancellations, downgrades, or renegotiated contract terms. We document every saving with the before/after cost and the action taken. You'll have full visibility into exactly what we're counting and why.
What if you don't find any savings?+
If a full engagement doesn't yield meaningful, verified savings, you don't owe us a performance fee. We've built our entire pricing model around this because we only take on engagements where we're confident there's something to find. In practice, we've yet to audit an SMB of 10+ employees and find nothing to optimise.
About Our Markets
Do you work with businesses outside the US?+
Yes — we serve SMBs in the United States, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. We're familiar with the common software vendors, pricing structures, and market rates in each of these countries, as well as local compliance considerations (ATO, MTD, etc.). All engagements are conducted remotely via video call.
Do you handle different currencies?+
Yes. We work in USD (US), AUD (Australia), CAD (Canada), and GBP (UK). For businesses with mixed-currency billing — common in Canada and Australia where many tools are billed in USD — we calculate the true local-currency cost of every subscription so you can see your real spend in one consistent currency.
Data & Security
Do I need to share sensitive financial data?+
We work from your software invoices and billing records — not your full P&L, banking credentials, or system access. Typically, 3 months of credit card or bank statements filtered to software vendors is enough. All documents are shared via encrypted channels and deleted after the engagement is complete.
Do you sign NDAs?+
Absolutely. We're happy to sign a mutual NDA before any information is shared. Just let us know when you reach out and we'll send one over before the free audit call. Many of our clients request this and it's standard practice for us.
Getting Results
How quickly will we see savings?+
Most clients action their first cancellations or downgrades within 11–30 days of receiving their report. Some savings (cancellations, seat reductions) are immediate. Others (contract renegotiations) may take 30–60 days depending on your renewal schedule. We build a phased implementation plan that prioritises the fastest wins first.
What if we've already done a subscription review internally?+
Internal reviews almost always miss things — especially zombie licenses (active accounts for ex-employees), duplicate tools across departments that don't communicate with each other, and above-market pricing on renewals. We'd encourage you to share what you've found — often we can build on that work and go deeper where you left off. In our experience, businesses that have done an internal review still have significant savings on the table.
